This 200-page volume features front and rear flyleaves with black-and-white etchings of riders and grooms before a race, along with 16 colour plates and 110 aquatints/etchings throughout. The book is unread, with no inscriptions or thumb marks.
Written by Colonel Charles Lane, a highly respected military man who later became Sporting Art Correspondent for Horse & Hound and Treasurer for the British Sporting Arts Trust, this is a well-researched and authoritative work on sporting art.
