Homer Hawkins – Hoof Beats | Country Life Ltd., 1932

A beautifully produced volume celebrating every breed of horse, organized into sections featuring illustrations, poems, and insightful commentary. Bound in coral boards with a contrasting cloth spine, the front board features Hoof Beats in white embossed lettering, with gilt lettering to the spine. Flyleaves are faux-marble in a matching tone.

The text block is neat and tight on heavy cream pages, though there is a minor reader’s spine crack between pages 39–42. Corners show slight snubbing, and there is mild shelf scuffing. A small, barely visible bookseller’s indentation is present on the top right corner of the front flyleaf, followed by a neatly written name in green ink.

Despite these minor imperfections, this remains a delightful book for anyone interested in horses, celebrating their beauty, character, and variety.

Condition: Good; minor wear consistent with use.
